Getting a massage at The Rehab Room Calhoun can help you relax, reduce stress, improve circulation, relieve muscle tension, and boost your overall well-being. Massage not only enhances flexibility and range of motion, but it can boost immune function and aid in better sleep.
I offer a variety of massage types, such as sports massage, deep tissue, myofascial work, cupping, scraping, PNF stretching, burn/scar therapy, and general relaxation.
Every client receives a customized session, and every session for the client is different. Depending on what the concerns are for each session, I tailor the treatment to what will work best for that individual. I will recommend whatever is needed for each session, whether it is scraping, cupping, or generalized bodywork.
I prefer that male clients come dressed in athletic style shorts that they will keep on during their session. If the client is comfortable, they can keep boxer style briefs on, but to best move and get to all areas needed, loose shorts are best.
Female clients will remove bras, but I prefer the same with shorts. Athletic style shorts are preferred. It just makes it easier to stretch and move the client during the session.
It is your session and it is 100% up to you. I have some clients who communicate the entire length of our sessions. I truly enjoy hearing about your life and how your day is going. I want to not only be your therapist but your friend. I am always willing to talk, but the only time I will initiate conversation is if it is related to the bodywork I am currently doing.
Also, please don't ever be afraid to speak up during or after a session if there was something you loved or did not prefer. I always want to make sure you are happy with the work I do. I take great pride in my business and my clients' well-being.
Depending on your needs, I will recommend the frequency of visits depending on how our session goes. As a rule of thumb, if you are in chronic or acute pain, I recommend 1x/week for a month. If you are unable to do this, then the minimum for maximal benefit would be bi-weekly. If you just come and see me for maintenance, 1x/month is perfect!
I always tell my clients, if you eat one healthy meal, or workout one time in a month, you will never grow muscle. Same with massage. If you only see me once every few months but are still in pain, you will not receive the maximum benefit.
I ask that all first time clients please pre-book through my Square booking page. Once a card is on file for you, I can then book you through other means. If you are looking for an appointment time and do not see it on the Square page, please feel free to email/text/DM me.
Please be advised that in the event of a cancelled appointment without proper notice (24 hours in advance), a fee of 50% of the service will be charged to the individual responsible for scheduling the appointment. If you cancel on the same day as your appointment, you may be charged 100% of the service. This is because I value both my time and your time. If you book an appointment and cancel within the 24 hour window, it does not allow me to reach out to other clients who would have wanted the spot. If you cancel an appointment within 24 hours, once the percentage is paid, you can rebook. Booking will not be allowed until that portion of the session is paid for. No-shows will also be charged 100% of the session. I appreciate your understanding!
